Discussion:
Sudden drop, deacrese of Battery level

Hello!
In Poland we have a bulk problem with ESR trucks. In every ESR truck we have mounted the LIthium-ion battery. (The problem is only in ESR model, another don't have a problem). During the using a ESR truck suddenly BDI of truck from 100% drop down to 90% or 0% and the truck needs to be reset as the truck slows down as if the battery is dead.. Reset is by turning off the truck and then turning it back on. After this action the truck have 100% BDI. The fault happens randomly. We don't know what can be a reason... Any Idea? Please help. We try everything. We flashed the program etc.
Best regards,

Hello swoop223!
Thank You very much for advice. We don't want change the settings of ESR truck on option lit-ion because our battery have another language of CAN communiaction. Our battery have lead-acid option because when we set the lithium option the truck is not comunicated with BMS battery and we see the errors on truck panel. There are not dedicated battery from Crown. There are substitutes. Maybe have you tricks how can I cheat the truck? Level of battery and another information I see on additional screen from battery. I don't need the BDI level on truck's panel.

most trucks these days come with a battery type select in the setup of the software. If these batteries were recently installed maybe they forgot to set the battery type in the truck? So it's reading incorrectly causing the irregular display output? Reflashing the firmware is fine if it actually needed it but even then you would have to go into it and make sure all the settings for the truck are set correctly, generally a flash program is set to standard settings by default and may not be set specifically to your machine's options.
just a thought to consider...
Another thought, if they came with these batteries and everything is setup correctly then there is another issue, possibly a characteristic of these batteries.
How old are they? Remember this is new technology and i'm sure you are aware that they can and will give problems being it is so new. They have great power curves but as with all batteries do get charge sensitive and will start to reflect that in their charge retention and max capacity capability over time.
These new operating systems in these lifts are very voltage sensitive and any variation from what it expects to see can and most likely will have a drastic effect on the performance and operation.
