Protecting walls behind racking systems

We are concerned with punching holes in the sheetrock behind the racking system used to store 12' carpet roles that we are stacking 1 4' high using a carpet pole on our lifts. The racking company recommends that we use a welded wire rack guard backing with a 6" offset which is attached to the racking. According to the brochure, this backing that is designed to protects material from falling into the aisle. This is not only very expensive, but I'm not sure it will stand up to 1500 lb carpet rolls. We are considering using 3/4" plywood, wire mesh or even wire fencing on the walls. Suggestions would be appreciated.

The use of "hello" as a telephone greeting is attributed to Thomas Edison. He is said to have suggested it as a simpler alternative to other greetings, such as "Do I get you?" or "Are you there?".
