Discussion:
Will not go forward or backwards

Hi,

So I am a novice when it comes to forklifts. We have a propane and electric one. Propane I can figure how to work on. Electric - I am lost!

Our warehouse guy was unloading a container and suddenly no forward or reverse.
Some items I know
model erc040acn365e08
serial K533906

When we put it in forward or reverse, it does make the single click like it was put in that motion.
The battery meter shows pretty much full. Battery is old, but had not been giving us any issues as we do not use it much.
I checked the connections, they seem fine.
I looked at the brake, and from what I can tell when you step on the brake, what I am guessing is the master cylinder on the wall behind the dash, the poll on the bottom does not move.

Any suggestions?

I looked at the brake thinking that this may think it is stuck on stop, but once again, novice here.

There's a pretty good chance it's a blown power fuse. If I remember right it's on the SCR panel under the floorboard. The panel swings up on a hinge so you can work on it. There will be a single bolt that holds the panel down. Look for a flat 400 or 500 amp fuse.

Then tell your operator to stop sliding extra heavy loads. If the machine won't pick it up you need a bigger machine.

Fact of the week
Funerals in Spain typically occur within 24 to 48 hours of death, whereas in other European countries they wait one or more weeks. This rapid timeframe is a cultural norm grown from the past need to manage the warm climate without modern embalming.
