Discussion:
no fwd travel

reverse works fine but no fwd travel.
fwd used to work a little bit, but none anymore.
fwd travel did not die completely in one go.
the performance fell ayay, fairly quickly, with an increasing frequent "chattering/clattering" noise...
i can hear the contactor pulling in both fwd and reverse directions...
i have fiddled with the potentiometer....opened it up and cleaned and lubed...no apparant improve...
also messed with contactors....i found one which was quite badly eroded...cleaned it up with file and re-installed....
is it possible to re-do contactors in this method?
or is this a big no no.
btw, all the other functions on this machine work fine.
its a 24 volt model
the brake switches are fine.
i pretty sure battery voltage is fine too.
pls help

hey thankyou!
it was clunking in both fwd and rev directions...
its no longer the case...
ive messed with the potentiometer again and contactors again also...
after cleaning and degreasing the microswitches for the fore/aft joystick horizontal movement. after the dirt removed, one swith is not activating...that will need adjusting...
the motor brake switch and both platform switches are good.
battery voltage is ordinary...24.7
drops really low quick, like to 16...

If it's clicking in both directions from the fwd/rev contactor then it will need to be rebuilt or replaced, depending on the type of contactor fitted. A contactor kit will be available for the serviceable type. Filing the tips is a no-no.
