Discussion:
Weak Horn

I have two Komatsu's doing the same thing. The horn is weak during operation. Voltage is 52 and 1/4amps going to horn. Replaced horn twice and also used OEM horn. It happens while using horn switch or leaving parking brake off. The input from horn switch goes into the traction card, but the output to the horn comes out of the hydraulic card. Do I have a bad card?

There is a Field Campaign for the horn on this truck. The horn manufacturer made some changes to the horn which require a new horn and a short wire harness with a diode to redirect current. Check with your local Komatsu Dealer or send an email with the two serial numbers to [email address removed] and we will let you know for sure.

Fact of the week
The first practical visible-spectrum LEDs were red, not white. The red colour was the easiest to produce using the semiconductor materials available at the time (the 1960s). The alloy gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAsP) used emitted red light.
