Discussion:
Torque specs for the head

I have a K25 Nissan engine and I need the torque specs for the head on this engine. I would really appreciate it if someone has the numbers.

if you are just checking the torque on the bolts then the end torque spec is 19.6 - 23.52 N.m (2.0 - 2.3 kgf-m) plus 90° which should wind up being around 68.6 N.m

If you are installing new bolts or a new head then there is a sequence and method you have to use when installing a new head.
Use new bolts!

There is a tightening and breakin torque, return to 0, then final torque

step1 = 19.6 - 23.52 N.m (2.0 - 2.3 kgf-m)
step2 = 68.6 N.m (7.0 kgf-m)
step3 = 0.0
step4 = 19.6 - 23.52 N.m (2.0 - 2.3 kgf-m)
step5 = 90° - 92°

perform step 1, through all bolts
then do step 2 and run engine till hot.
let engine cool down
do step 3
then step 4 and 5

as for the tightening pattern you start in the middle bolts then work your way out using a cross hatch pattern for the next set, then the outside bolts reverse the cross hatch pattern.

If you contact me via the email address in my signature i can send you the diagram for this proceedure if you are unsure.

Fact of the week
In March 2002, identical twins in Finland died on the same day in similar accidents within hours of each other. A 70-year-old man was killed by a truck while cycling; hours later, his twin brother was killed by a truck on the same road, about a mile away, before the family had been informed of the first accident.
