Error Code E140- "Checksum Error"

I am getting this code, which according to the manual, means bad software or bad tiller card. I had a shop look at it and they tried it with their machine and it worked. Also checked the CAN bus wiring and am suspecting the Curtis 1243 Motor Controller. Thoughts?
