trouble shooting switch problem - crown 30sp42tt

I have a Crown 30sp42tt the travel is fine, but ony goes up only when I manually depress the contacts...won't respond to the switch. I'm thinking solinoid, but was hoping some could confirm or make another suggestion. Thanks! Robert
