Discussion:
Near Misses

How many accident reports include something like " Ive done this a thousand times" ?

How many minor accident reports are simply a rehash of the same scenario?

How many minor accidents does it take for someone to realize that some of these small "near misses" are really fortunate outcomes to an event that could have been tragic?

How many managers want to talk "truth" instead of reading some script put together by someone that has never done the job? ( No disrespect intended, but if you havent had your butt in the seat for several years you cannot really understand "first hand" the issues and obstacles presented by the job to begin with )

I find Safety meetings to be quite entertaining and fruitful ( thought and action provoking ) when the person holding the meeting has "been there". No bs just the plain truth.

BRILLIANT
You have the management upstairs in there suits. Who can do the job of a operator who knows the job inside out.
Nightmare as you or we are the only persons who work there everyday, every *** up, But they have a suit and know how its sopposed to be done.
I deal with them every day, let them have there glory and when it goes wrong YOU must remind them that its there idea.
And when it comes to the operators remind them of there training and if they cant remember. ITS TIME FOR A RE-TEST.

Fact of the week
In Germany, the 9th of November is sometimes called Schicksalstag, the "Day of Fate" because it has been the day for several major historical events, including the horrors of Kristallnacht in 1938 and the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
