Really interesting news on this site - are we seeing the start of the next real Global consolidation of forklift manufacturers and brands?
First we saw Lansing / Linde, Boss / Jungheinrich, Hyster / Yale, Toyota / BT, Mitubishi / Rocla CAT, Nissan / Atlet,....
Now we have reports of Hitachi Construction who have TCM in the portfolio apparently looking at Nissan Forklift, how are we looking going forward? No more Still? no more Atlet? No more CAT? Will it be Hyster or Yale? Surely it has to stop somewhere this consolidation, or will we just have the 'DYSON' unique forklift, with no competition? !!!!!! Just a thought chaps.

I see that TCM are building the 5-8T for Nissan. Maybe they were interested in buying Nissan/ATLET at one time as they would have given them an established route to the European market.
I doubt they are as keen now, though. The Nissan dealers are jumping ship all over the place. And we haven't seen the last of it yet I should imagine.
It looks like Nissan just want rid of a business they have no interest in anymore.
If TCM take over Nissan they might as well just sit in Asia and not export to Europe and North America. TCM just seem to be copied by the Chinese manufactures a bit like Nissan so they might as well just stay in Asia because they won't sell much else where
So put that in your PIPE HAWK thats the US sorted but Nissan and TCM can`t see it but i could see CROWN having a dig at Nissan and all those Atlet accounts. If not its a slow death for Nissan as they relaunch their tried and tested CHOP STICK division.
well if Cat goes away then Mitsubishi and the entire dealer network is in trouble in the USA, thats because most if not all Cat/Mitsubishi dealers push the Cat brand first and push it for more money then the Mitsubishi.
Hyster/Yale is never going away, Yale does very well on the east coast and Hyster does well on the west coast, Hyster also makes all the big trucks also.
