in my experience, the machine with the cheapest purchace price will end up being the most expensive to maintain and repair over its useable service life
to look at the initail costs as your only factor in determining what machine to buy is kinda foolish and very nearsighted
linde is one of the most expensive trucks to purchase but thru higher quality components and better design they say that their trucks, over the useable service life, will actually cost less to maintain and repair than a cheaper brand and theirby saving you alot more money than the initial cost savings of the new machine purchase (could total 10s of thousands of us dollars, especaily in fleets, on the backend. think longterm savings)
toyota also seems to be a company that cares less about competitive pricing than high quality long lasting components

think wisely i have seen many companies burnt by an attractive cheap upfront price
in most cases with a properly maintained machine the initial purchase price is about 25% of the total ownership costs
poorly maintained machines (especailly cheap ones) will breakdown often and with more expensive and serious problems
linde claims their machines breakdown less often and require maintanence much less often than competitive brands thereby increasing the % of cost of the initial purchace to total ownership

You are wrong. We have had supplied some forklifts to Batam and support after sales service from Singapore. No matter what brand you buy, after sales service is very important. Also through our experiences with Batam customers, they try to repair themselves and sometimes make a mess out of it. By the time we arrived on site there were parts missing.

You may want to step back and think about what you are doing. A forklift should not be treated as an expense but as a tool for your business that will generate revenue. A forklift is a long term decision. While you can save some money up front going after the lowest priced unit of the month you may easliy cost yourself thousands of dollars in repair bills in the future.

dear chewingyu,

hello..thanks for your idea

Im stay at Batam:) I think you know that place..:)

unfortunatelly,i always asked suppliers from singapore for giving me their best prices but I see they didnt like do business with my company batam here

When I try to call and ask their sales always said: " u are..batam people arr..always asking the price but didnt order..etc bla2..

honestlly im quite dissapointed..

Commonly most of businessman batam order stuff from singaopre because of close and cheap shipping

we'r not dare order from jakarta,indonesia..usually their prices higher than singapore already...

Please advise

Thx

Actually it is very difficult to tell you which brands are cheap. It depends on the marketing strategy of each manufacturer/supplier which would take into consideration the quantity (fleet size) location of its customer, accessibility, marketability of its product in that region ,etc etc.

Why don't you just put out an open tender/quotation/bidding exercise and let the suppliers give you their best price?

Are you looking for the cheapest initial purchase price or are you looking for the lowest overall costs of operation? There is a big difference.
