Hey guys im back on this Nissan again.started out with a leak on the steer cylinder, after packing it I started having problem when it is turned to the left hard it will not turn back, the steering wheel turns but the tires wont.works fine to the right. I had the hand pump rebuilt but did not fix it. when it turns hard to the left it looks like it is oversteering, it will pull the wiper seal out of the gland and it leaks a little oil. Any thoughts on this one?

I would start by checking that the cylinder rod isn't bent. Where the packing goes on the rod itself has an o-ring underneath the crimped seal boss. I have seen where these have been damaged due to an assisted oversteer ( wheel cut deep and hit with another object. forklift, or hard backing into dock plates while turned). Before teardown, full stroke the cylinder from lock to lock by hand. It should be smooth and no binding.
they are fixed no adjustment. im glad my customer has decided to get rid of these Nissans, they are sure enough money pits.
any tie rod adjustment? or are they fixed links?
thanks. this model lift does not have a stop.
Sounds like the steering stop bolt is missing allowing the steer cylinder to push to far. It either had a bolt or a flange that prevented over steer.
