hi, steering locks, electric fault... steer controller changed... steer pot changed...hyd controller and plug / pins changed, steering returns after switching off and rearming.

If I understand your shorthand, after the steering reaches a lock in either direction, the controller faults out?
adjust the steer hydraulic pressure down a bit.
