starts then dies

i have a Nissan forklift model # CPJ01A15PV that will start run for about 5 seconds then die. i have rebuilt the vaporizer and lock off with new diaphragms. it seems like the truck is not getting enough fuel. i can run the truck no problem on starting fluid but when i switch back to propane my problems come back any advice would be appreciated thanks.

You have a fuel issue. You confirmed this by running longer than 5 seconds on alternative fuel.
You may have low vacuum to the lock off. Maybe it's low because of your dashpot leaking? I can't recall if they share the same supply. Regardless apply vacuum to the lock off manually and I bet it will run.

UPDATE i have narrowed it down to being in the distributor i found that the vacuum advance mechanism was not working (blown diaphragm). i have replaced the vacuum advance but i still cant get it to stay running. if i unbolt it from the distributor i can keep the forklift running but as soon as i bolt it down it cuts out. i have tried to advance the distributor but it doesn't seem to help at all. any idea on what else to try? please let me know
