Lesson to all especially me... Wrong dipstick. ignored it filled to level bung next to filter and it has worked fine ever since. many thanks to all who commented.
If these sypmtoms came only after the ring gear, I would check all wiring (for pinching), connectors & grounds. Does sound like an electric issue
Hi thanks for taking the time to reply. You can sit on the truck and suddenly it will now work intermittently and someone else at work said it may be a switch, I never thought of electronic, thanks very much for the pointer. I will let you know for the benefit of all...
Hi Kevin
The inching linkage? Sounds fun... I am a gardener with no money who is trying, what is an inching linkage/
Have you checked the inching linkage
assuming the truck ran ok before the ringgear job
i'd go back and retrace the steps you took during reassembly
check wiring connections to transmission, ecm, check fuses, there should be a fuse controlling the transmission, make sure its not blown.
just a couple of things to consider
sorry forgot the model
Its a Hyster hs50xl 1986 gas converted Mazda engine.
Cheers
