Discussion:
side shift

I have a Toyota series 7 elect. with a new side shift that was put on it. What is the standard direction for the forks to move when the shift is pushed forwards or pulled backwards to the left or the right?

Thanks

Edward T; Yes there is a standard among all manufacturers and that is pull back to side shift right, push forward to side shift left.
We often get trucks in our shop that have had new side shift hoses installed improperly. We reinstall them and notify the customer and operator that we have done so.

there is no actual "standard", It's always best to offer to make it work the same as any others in the same plant, but more often than not, Smit666 is correct and pulling back toward the operator shifts to the right.

The norm is lever back sidesshift right. And vice versa.
