I just started working on this truck. It acts like it is missing at low rpms. Rebuilt the regulator which helped for one start up. Now it is back to the original problem. Cleaned the cap and rotor up but that didnt help. I am plannning on installing a tuneup kit but just wondering if it could be any other problems. It seems more like a fuel problem.

it turned out to be a tune up problem/ one of the plugs was loose.
On some of the v6 engines it helps if you add an extra ground wire to the engine. Has been an issue with them for a while, if they crank for a long time before starting. I have run into plenty of issues with coils on them too.
Check the fuel line between the regulator & the mixer assy- even the slightest leak will cause problems.
Also, it cranks awhile before starting.
