Will the next 18 month be the most important in the industry history and will this see both Toyota and KION try to find new ways to be number 1.

The only way both Toyota and KION can really grow their business is now threw take overs, the both control together mainly the warehouse equipment and small forklifts markets. With KION strong in Europe and Toyota strong in parts of Asia and North America even this will change over the next year with the Toyota hydroststic truck pushing KION in Europe and KION pushing back in North America with its plans.

Will the next year see Toyota buying the Kalmar heavy truck business it looks like it will Toyota are not that strong in this area and need something there if they are to keep at number one , KION know the closer of Merthyr and the tie up with Kone was a disaster to say the least and now are having to fix this problem with another takeover.
Kalmar are seeing stronger than expected competition from Sany in the container handling market and Cargotec the ultimate owner of Kalmar would like to keep the number 1 spot here. They lost the number 1 spot in RTGs and ship to shore cranes to ZMPC some years ago so to lose to Sany in the mobile container handling market will not go down well. So getting out of industrial forklifts will fit in well with Cargotec and is the answer Toyota are looking for for big trucks so this will happen over the next 18 month.


This leaves the rest what will happen here and who will win and lose , the loser has already been answered with Komatsu they have had a terrible couple of years losing market share to both Doosan and Hyundai so they will go over the next 18 month probably into the new company that will come out of the Unicarrier takeover. Unicarrire Mistubishi cat Junghierich and now Komatsu tie up. Heli and HC will still concentrate on China and will try to move into the global market but will struggle with the new big three.Doosan or Hyundai will takeover Clark i think this will be Hyundai and Doosan and Crown will work more closely than now
