well after checking out a wiring diagram replacing the meter panel might be a last chance repair as the signals from the directional control do go through it. The info i presented earlier was based on the information i had based on what cat did to deal with it on their trucks, no mention of a meter panel replacement was in there so i ignored that possibility, my mistake i guess :o)
That wiring diagram does show a signal processor in the meter panel and that might be the problem, some kind of fault in it.
If your problem went away and it's been a week now i think it would be safe to say it is fixed. ;o)
