I believe that has the optional CD65 ignition. It uses a special coil (pulse transformer) 5099838-00. From the simple wiring diagram that I have it looks to be a CDI type and the neg side of the coil is grounded. The positive side may get a pulse from the ign module when the capacitor in the module discharges. It's hard to tell looking at the diagram. I would check to see if the wire/wires going to the neg side of the coil are grounded. Also make sure the module is grounded. I can send the diagrams to you later today.
