Our Toyota lift starts fine, but engine speed control is very erratic. Engine surges and hunts, throttle response is sluggish. When throttle is applied, engine speed "hunts". Hard to have fine control because of this. Does not matter whether engine is cold or warm. I understand Toyotas use an electronic regulation/engine controller that is not adjustable. Heard somewhere to adjust distributor timing under load to get best performance. Is the dist. mech or vac advance? What is the correct setting w/timing light, procedure?

Thanks for any help!
