Wanderer, as Engineering Director for Hoist, I can assure you all of our masts are constructed of high strength alloy steels and meet the requisite 3:1 safety factor required (at a minimum).
Additionally, as Hoist strives for continual improvement, we have been, and continue to, implement robotic weld cells to improve our welding consistency and quality. If you have any concerns about a specific unit I would be happy to address them with you.
