Check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail where the FAP screws in. You should have 4-7 psi at an idle under acceleration it will jump up to 12-14 psi. If you pull the orange vacuum line off the regulator you should see 12 psi

You most likely have a bad regulator with high fuel pressure. This is a common problem with the GM engines and the Teleflex GFI regulators
