Hello. I am working on our shops Caterpillar GPK45 Forklift. It has a strait 6 cyl Nissan engine. The forklift all of a sudden, stopped responding to the accelerator pedals input. It wont accelerate in forward or reverse and it wont rev up in neutral. If I disconnect the throttle body's actuator and plug it back in. The RPM's will surge for a very short period of time and then the engine will stall.

We took the throttle body off our forklift and plugged it into a known good forklift and it seemed to respond properly with the pedal's input. We did not bolt it on. Rather than throwing parts at our forklift, is there any way to pull the codes off the computer without the purchase of a scan tool? I would like to narrow down the problem to keep costs to a minimum. Right now there is a warning light on, in the shape of a triangle with an exclamation point (!) in the center. As it sits now, I am pretty sure the problem lies with the pedal. Since our throttle body responded on the test forklift.

Anyone have any experience with this problem on this kind of forklift?

Thanks in advance
