I have seen many manufactures trucks come out of the factory with wire braid hoses, the problem with these is that the wire stretches over time and the hoses go slack. The only reason for not using thermoplastic hose (Synflex) is when the hoses have to have a very tight bend in them, ie through a clamp as they tend to kink rather than bend as wire hose does. We use thermoplastic where possible as it does not stretch, has a smaller OD so is better for running over pulleys and its cheaper.

Fact of the week
The origin of "love" as the score zero in tennis is debated, but two main theories prevail. One suggests it's derived from the French word "l'oeuf" (egg) which resembles the shape of the number zero. The other proposes it's related to the Dutch word "lof" meaning "honour" as players might be playing for honour when scoreless.
