The most likely solution will be soot filters. Crazy in that it will satisfy the exhaust requirements but will put up fuel consumption of the machine.

The next issue will be who changes the soot filters - the customer or the service provider? Just imagine the quantity of soot filters being carried around everyday in the future to and from cleaning stations. No doubt carried around in the back of vans creating more exhaust fumes. Compliance is an ever decreasing circle.
