Can you watch the motor while someone drives it and see what the brushes are doing when this happens? Big flash would mean it electrical, no flashing would seem it's something mechanical.

"Unicarriers - it would have to be for a dual fuel unit also. Usually a bad cam or crankshaft sensor will throw a E-27 or a E-28 code on the dash panel... If it does not light up and the bulb is bad then it will not start also."
