As a Canadian trainer, specifically Ontario and Quebec, I would have to say that the training that your son has received should suffice however it may be up to the discretion of an officer as to whether he/she would acccept such proof, and if they are sticklers, would prefer to see that your son was trained in Canada, or specifically, the province in which he may reside.

I have trained Britons and from what they tell me, the operational and safety rules are fairly close.

As far as I can tell, the main differences between the two countries would be fines and punishments.
