I'm pulling the transmissions in my Pettibone Mercury GS-44 RTF. I'm trying to split the T-9 and Reverse-O-Matic from the transfer case. I think that you have to remove the cover on the transfer case opposite of the output shaft of the T-9 in order to unbolt the two. I can't seem to get the transfer case cover all the way off. Am I going in the wrong direction? or is the transfer case cover just stuck on a gear or shaft?
Thanks.
