When I worked for dealer in Atlanta area. We would be periodically asked by the owner periodically to call the service departments of our competitors & survey things like standard/published service labor rates, PM, rental rates, etc. We played "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" and you know what? Nobody said no as often we were their customers for service parts, rentals 9we didn't have, etc. They want the same information - so make you sure you give them your info. Competitors are not mean folks. Hints: 1.) don't necessarily talk to the Service Manager, unless you know them they are occasionally "secretive"; 2. do offer your info first helps reduce resistance.

Oh, I was in sales when I did it & if a sale type can do it any one can!
