The integrated products have been marketed by MCFA and for a number of years without issues like you describe. This kind of use/abuse is anticipated in the typical environment. Load cell failures have been very minimal and the patented scale design protects against impact loadings. Furthermore the stainless steel hermietically sealed load cells employed are are simple and far less expensive than LCs used in most other products of this nature (as the scale output is digital). The hang on scale is built using similar technologies as the integrated scale and the robustness is comparable.
