As a wise person once said "If the job is worth doing then it is worth doing right."
When folks try to backyard engineer things & something goes wrong, they are generally the first in line to hire a Philadelphia lawyer & sue 'cause the manufactuerer didn't have a label that said not to do it incorrectly or something like that.
