Man, am I ever sorry to hear about the theft of your tools,
This is one of the spots I would think that GPS tracking units (like LoJack) would be a big sale point. I am surprised to hear of any Cat dealer that didn't already have tracking units. I also would think your tools are what they were really after, and that the forklift parts would mostly wind up in a dumpster somewhere. If I was your boss, I would also get someone to start watching Craig's list and e-bay for the parts.
