HI.
I have worked on toyotas for seveal years and the first time the generation 7 came out our customers complained of the same problem. Under the accelerator pedal you will find a switch, this can be adjusted or shorted out. This will allow the machine to be operated the same way as the old 5 & 6 Series on its drive. Toyota have now removed this switch and fitted a seat switch.
