One more thing to check. The LP lock-off at the regulator is controlled by the vacuum switch that provides power. Make sure the vacuum is enough to pull the switch on as soon as the engine cranks. Check the line for holes or loose fit. With an old engine, vacuum can get low. Good Luck.
