Fishmech,
the JD tractor fluid will probably work but depending on which transmission it has in it some of them took a special fluid. None of the newer models use red transmission fluid, they stopped that and went to clear tractor type fluids long ago. The service spec says to use JDM J20C.
Engine oil: 15W40 API CG4/CH4 ACEA E3/E5 Mil-PRF-2104G
Hydraulic oil: SAE 10W (todays equivalent is AW32)
Antifreeze: 50% water and 50% ethylene glycol boron-free
Fuel: #2 diesel
As for the model number? i'll give you an example and description of how they break down.
Let's say you have a GDP050TDNUAT083
GD - Diesel (engine)
P -Pneumatic (tires)
050 - capacity (how much it's classified to lift, in this case 5000lbs)
T - Special designation (any special features added on other than stock)
D -Design Series (not sure on this one, will vary depending on what year)
N -Mfg Source (in this case North America)
U -Engine model designation (in this case a mazda engine)
A -Transmission type (in this case an automatic power shift)
T - Mast Type (in this case a triple stage mast)
083 - Retracted or Collapsed mast height (inches)
This is just an example from on older model breakdown guide i have. There may be an updated newer one with better information for newest machines built after this was put out.
