the only things that could take out an ignition module would be over voltage or a shorted circuit.
make sure that alternator is putting out correctly, generally 13.2 to 14.8v at high governed rpms.
get a good look at the distributor and the wiring, the rubber insulator where the harness comes out of it.
Oh, (just in case) don't use any TVH ignition parts, use OEM please, they work a lot better ;o)
