We have a Yale GLC050VX. All of our equipment has auto decel and speed control. These forklifts will not coast when you let off the accelerator, they come to a gradual stop. They will not move when you put them in gear until you push the accelerator pedal. One of my coworkers brought it to my attention that it coasted down a ramp between buildings and recorded an overspeed event on the add-on Speedshield unit. (controls access with a HID card, has a checklist, and reports impacts and overspeeds ). I went into the Yale program through the dash to check and see what the value was for the auto-decel feature. It showed to be set at 2. I exited the program and went to see what the default was on my computer. I found that the default was 7, so I went back into the program to reset it. The section for travel/braking no longer had the option to set the auto decel. rate. Yale tech support says this unit never had that option. I'm not sure what happened, but we have had this unit for more than 2 years. It is a Maintenace unit and we have to travel form one end of this plant to another, which is about a quarter of a mile. There are multiple levels and ramps from one section of the plant to another. Questioning my memory and sanity had me inquiring if anyone else remembers this unit acting differently than the other 25 we have. Everyone insists that it used to have a working auto-decel function as well as not moving, even when in gear without pushing the accelerator.
Has anyone had a problem with the options just disappearing form the forklift programming?

Fact of the week
The black box flight recorder was invented by Australian scientist David Warren in the mid-1950s. While initially met with indifference in Australia, his invention gained international recognition, particularly in the UK, and is now a mandatory piece of safety equipment on all commercial aircraft.
