The rats chewed up wiring, cleaned up and repaired but it goes into protection mode.

All lift functions good.

With drive wheel lifted the motor does run both ways in slow SCR mode.

As more speed is added the directional contactor cuts out and turning off key resets.

We suspect we may have missed a wire, we have the manual and it looks like we got all of them.

May be bad cap.

We suspect it is the protection mode doing this.

When the speed control moves past certain point (m2?) The motor attempts to take off but the protector kicks out the direction contactor, same thing both directions.

Would a bad cap do this?

The first practical visible-spectrum LEDs were red, not white. The red colour was the easiest to produce using the semiconductor materials available at the time (the 1960s). The alloy gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAsP) used emitted red light.
