probably not, the sensors or contact related to the error is in the steering unit sensors or their associated wiring most likely, not out on the mast. But since the auxillary functions on the mast do work off of the auxillary pump circuit which also operates steering it may.
Checking that wire harness in the mast isn't that hard, just raise the carriage up and extend the reach out to get access to the plug at the base of the carriage frame, then find the other end of the plug on the outside of the left side of the mast and check the continuity of each wire. They are color coded so it would be hard to mix up the wires. if one of the wires is broken it will have more resistance than the others. If you wiggle the harness/hose assy around while connected you will probably see alot of variation in readings. Or possibly might see it open up completely.
