OPCSA has ordered more hybrid RTGsCanary Islands container terminal Operaciones Portuarias Canarias S.A. (OPCSA), has signed a deal for eight hybrid rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes for its terminal in the Port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The deal is with Konecranes and was signed this month. Konecranes says the RTGs are expected to be delivered in Q2 2026.
OPCSA has previously ordered six hybrid Konecranes RTGs in 2022.
The newly ordered RTGs will be equipped with hybrid drives to reduce fuel consumption and emissions as well as truck lift prevention and auto-steering.
Javier Zurita Ramírez, project manager at OPCSA, says the order is part of the company’s plans to modernise and decarbonise its terminal operations.
