I am new to the forum but not new to the Forklift business. We own 5 Hyster 15,500 Lbs, 3 Mitsubishi 5000 Lbs, a Versalift 25/35 and a Peterbilt 379 tilt up truck. We use our forklifts only for moving heavy machinery and they are well maintained and only our employees use them. All bought all of them new in the past 7 years. (We buy one or two a year and use rule 179 for depreciation, instead of paying taxes which is perfectly legal)

This year we had good amount of business. We are contemplating or planning to buy multiple forklifts & scissor lifts and start a rental division either in Orlando FL or Southern New Jersey.

What do you think and please comment?

1. Good Idea
2. No way, its a bad idea
3. Market is over crowded
4. Very difficult to make money
5. Good business due to online warehousing
6. Good Business. A Lot of hard work
7. Easy Money

We received a very attractive price from a Chinese company for their forklifts. Less than a $1.00 Million $$ for about 30 forklifts and 20 Scissor lifts.

Which is the best brands that I should go with?

Toyota
Hyster
Mitsubishi
UniCarriers
Hangcha
Heli
Linde
Doosan / Hyundai

Fact of the week
At the opening ceremony of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, marching bands were instructed to walk out of step as they crossed the bridge. This unusual directive was given as a precaution due to concerns about the bridge's structural integrity during its early use.
