Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I'm replacing the ring gear on our linde H45D serial H2x394w04333 year2008, vw engine due to the starter rounding off the teeth. I have everything unbolted but can't seem to remove the hydrostatic drive unit. I can pull it back about 10mm and it won't come any further I thought it was splined and would just pull off but I can see the rubber coupling inside the bell housing bolted to the flywheel, does this need to be unbolted somehow? And advise is appreciated. Thanks Rob.

Thanks for your reply, I have just managed to remove it. The pins on the flange that locate into the rubber mount had rusted into the mount, a lot to time and big lever bars finally prised the pins out the flange! I will get a genuine starter as it had a new recon unit fitted that caused the problem and looks like a good idea to replace the rubber coupling as well! Thanks
One more thing Rob
Use genuine starter too, otherwise you will being the same job again sooner than you think
Hi Rob
The pump should just pull off if you have unbolted everything.
The pump has a 3 pin drive on it that just locates into the rubber coupling that is bolted to the flywheel.
Double check that all is unbolted
