C8 is indicates a current sensing failure, which usually indicates a fault within the controller, which is by now is unlikely for a replacement to be sourced. However its well worth looking at the current sensing leads attached to the current sensing shunt mounted on the front of the main rectifier, (it looks a bit like an oversized razor blade). Also have a look at all the bolted shunt mountings, any signs of loose connections and / or over-heating ? If so file clean and, or replace.

Hi All,
Looking at a very old RD100 controller PCB.
Anyone still got a RD100 tech manual or schematic they could email me?
Many thanks.

Hi, Rids,
That code refer,s to a DC power fault,
1 Check fuse 2 on the inner control panel it's the middle fuse rated at 500 ma.
2 check for mains voltage across primary coil, if no voltage present check for ac voltage at the ac terminals of contactor coil, if you have volts replace coil if not replace controller.
3 if you had ac volts at primary winding, check for ac volts across secondary winding they should be opprox 2.5v x no of cells,still ac. If no suspect transformer winding yes move on to 4.
4 check for same voltage at ac terminals of rectifier if yes replace rectifier if no check associated wiring.
If your not an experienced electrician My advice is don't go inside this charger get a charger engineer in to do the work.

You really need to buy a DC amp clamp. Testing a charger without one is near impossible went it comes to no current. You might have 75 volts but if your only pushing 60 amps where it should be 180 you cannot know.

Now go get one, if you test and find its low amps check your diodes. That's usually where I look. GL

i havn't another truck or battery to try it with! with batteries connected, the charger is pushing out 75volts, with charger disconnected the batteries are holding about 70 volts.

C3 = No charging current.

I'd be tempted to try another battery on it first if you have another on site to try.
