I always used metabo tools. Two days ago i got the dewalt angle grinder and today the variable trigger drill. Man this american tools have really impressed every guy in my shop plus it comes with a nice lenghth chord as well. These two units only cost me $150 which i feel is a great price. Say here a Hitachi 18v drill will cost $80 where i noted that electrial handtools were more costly in Perth. However i have tried to replace my stahwille and gedore spanners with Snap On and it went really well.... But then i got a wife and kids so tools are bought more discreetly these days.... Ha i am sure you will know that old story........?
When i get home later i will investigate that impact wrench, as 14 hours later we are still satisfying those precious customers with no sense of humour.
Thanks for post:
the worst abuse i see is right here in New York City lol
abuse is a worldwide issue
i have a air impact wrench and i also use a cordless impact wrench (18 volt dewalt) depending on what youre doing its nice to have both options
here in the US were required to provide our own tools though some shops will provide the more specialized and expensive tooling to use
Thanks for that advice. After your message i went and found out the prices of air tools and almost had a heart attack. Yip best i go onto some of your tool sites down under and compare prices. Ps The freight charges from here is $6.25 per kg which is not too sad.
I am pleased to see your drivers also abuse the equipment over there. I thought that was unique to africa only. Ha Ha.
Thanks once again.
Australia uses 240V ac mains power, so your electric tools should work fine here. Most field service vehicles here have compressors built-in,so your air tools are the best bet. Depending on the age and condition of your tools, it might be more economical for you to sell them there and replace those you need when you get here, rather than pay the shipping costs to get them here. I would certainly think hard before shipping bulky and heavy items like compressors and generators.
