One of my clients has an odd problem with his TCM FGC18 T8T, this one has an LPG powered Mazda engine, and the problem is that the air intake tube from the air cleaner to the carb is making solid contact on the under side of the seat deck when it is closed, and has worn a hole in the tube due to the contact.
There is nothing wrong with the seat deck or the way that it is mounted and all four of the rubber bumpers on the lower side sections of the deck are there and in good condition.
I think the problem is that it has the wrong parts are on the top of the carburetor causing the installed height to be a bit to tall. It has a CA55 carb, and the top piece of the carb is taller than what is on most CA55s. Another possibility is that the air horn that mounts to the afore mentioned top piece of the carb is the wrong one. I suspect that one, or both of those parts are not the correct pieces for this model, and are probably meant to be used on a similar model with a Nissan engine. I have a TCM parts drawing, but the detail is to poor for me to tell if the parts in the drawing are significantly different from the parts already on the machine.
Have any of you TCM guys seen this problem before, and can you confirm that the air horn and carb top piece are different on the Mazda and Nissan powered variants? I have some pictures that I can email if you need to see exactly what I'm trying to describe. Thank you.
