Discussion:
Over heat warning light.

Hi, I have a Toyota 7FGCU45 with the engine check light lit on the dash flashing what looks like code 1, the Over heat light is also lit. the temp gauge is reading normal operating temp the hoses and rad are all fine running at normal temp. could the light be an emission related warning possibly an exhaust temp overheat warning? the truck sometimes goes into limp mode with no throttle operation just a nice steady idle. I have cleared the engine light by disconnecting the battery but it returns after the over heat light. The truck has the Vortec V6 engine fitted. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Fact of the week
The word "robotics" was coined by Russian-born American science-fiction writer Isaac Asimov who first used the word in 1942 in his short story 'Runabout'. He characterised robots as helpful servants and as "a better, cleaner race."
