Discussion:
None runner but power at starter

Hoping someone on here can atleast point me in the right direction.

Have a Linde truck that won't start. Got power at ignition, power to computer and power to starter motor but when you turn ignition relay clicks but no starter.

Brake pedal switch appears to be ok and can confirm relay does click as you press brake pedal down but still no sign of starting.

This has been an intermittent fault for some time and last time we fixed it we removed starter checked it and refitted and then it worked again...

But we never found the Fault. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as there appears to be a lot of **** on these trucks that potentially could Stop the truck firing into life. Truck has never been a bad runner and always ran faultlessly it's just this starter fault that has occurred twice now...

Thanks in advance,

Do a load test on battery. Had a battery that cranked great but would only start 2nd time i tried, every time. Jumped off my van and it started every time. load tested battery and voltage dropped to 6 volts. load test fuse. Check voltage at solenoid when trying to crank motor.

most likely a relay
i'm not sure where it is located on this machine though

usually they have relays under dash or behind seat on main fuse/relay panel, but for this model i'm not 100% sure

Starter has been out on bench and works 100% fine. 12v at starter on one side but when you switch gear to start position and turn key nothing happens.

One single wire runs to the back of the solinoid on the starter.
I suspect this is not receiving a message to make starter work but unsure where this gets its signal from? Maybe you know?

i would check your voltage at the starter and solenoid starter wire from the keyswitch, make sure you are getting battery voltage in start mode.
one of the biggest issues i've found with starting problems is a weak battery, bad connections or faulty solenoids.

If you have good voltage at the starter wire at the starter then i would pull the starter and have it checked and/or rebuilt.
