Have no directional travel, no pot voltage from access 3 using meter, analyzer shows travel switches working and no pot volts, access 3 was replaced by customer and has same problem again, was told motor encoder could cause access issue, but how can you check encoder when motor doesn't turn

Any encoder on any lift truck or Automobile can be checked without power. These produce A/C voltage. Just unplug and test 2 terminals while spinning the motor by hand. They produce.8 to 3 volts A/C, depending on how fast you spin them. Your ABS wheel speed sensor on an automobile is the same.
hey i had a couple snapped wires in the base of the handle just onder the springs where the handle pivots. i had no pot voltage either i replaced pot and the whole upper handle harness and still had nothing until i accidentally saw the wires broken in the base of the handle when i was checking voltage on control board. once i replaced the lower harness that plugs into the scr control board everything was fine no calibration was needed.
Hey dhls, If you have no potentiometer counts through the analyser menu, i would check that the potentiometer, and connections are good. If they are I would suspect that you have broken wires in the handle harness. This is a very common problem and occurs often. I have seen broken wires in the cable as low as 250 hours of operation. Jack the machine off the ground and ohm out the 3 pot wires 1 by 1 from one end of the harness to the other and move the handle around as you do. If another harness is available you can connect it without actually installing it throught the handle to varifiy that the harness is actually the problem.
