Thank you for your help ended up being the ECM
when you say it has no codes, are you able to go into the dash using the password to see if any code is stored, or are you going by turning on the key and looking?
I don't know about the fortis/veractor internal software setup, since it senses the starter operation, most do not recognize how long the starter is cranking.
In most computer emissions controlled trucks the crank sensor must sense the #1 cylinder 2 times before any spark is generated. most systems do not know the engine is trying to -start- (not just key on) until the crank is turning, and the crank sensor then sends the signals that start everything else (including spark). this might be one of those places where having the software to be able to check the how sensors input to the computer looks, might be a very valuable tool, worth call the dealer out for, rather than pulling your hair.
when you say "timming is OK", do you mean you have confirmed the camshaft and crankshaft timing marks are in alignment?
